Understanding Flexispot Base Features
Here’s a quick overview of the terminology you'll see across our desk base options:
T-Frame vs C-Frame
- T-frame legs are centered under the desktop. They offer balanced stability and more clearance on both sides.
- C-frame legs angle slightly backward, giving you more knee and leg room while sitting. They also feel more open and ergonomic.
2-Leg vs 4-Leg Frames
- 2-Leg frames are standard for most sit-stand desks and offer excellent stability for everyday setups.
- 4-Leg frames provide unmatched rigidity and weight capacity, ideal for heavy gear, large tops, studio equipment, or anyone who wants maximum stability while standing.
Dual-Motor vs Quad-Motor
- Dual-motor bases use two synchronized motors (one in each leg) for smooth, strong lifting power.
- Quad-motor bases have a motor in each leg, offering the highest strength, fastest lift, and exceptional stability.
Height Range
Height measurements are for the base alone.
Your finished desk height will be the base height plus the thickness of your desktop, usually 1"–1.5" depending on material.
Max Desktop Size
This is the recommended maximum size for optimal stability. We stay within these ranges to ensure the desk performs as intended at full standing height.

BUTCHER BLOCK
Our butcher block tops are made from multiple smaller pieces of hardwood, carefully joined together into sturdy slabs. This style gives a clean, uniform appearance with beautiful natural variation. We cut each slab to size, round the edges, then hand-sand and finish it in our Franklin, TN shop with Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil for a smooth, soft-touch feel.
Best for: A timeless, durable surface with a crisp, structured look.
HARDWOOD
Our hardwood tops are fully built in-house using locally sourced wood. Each one is made from longer, continuous boards that highlight the natural grain, character, and beauty of the wood in broad, uninterrupted sections. We mill, glue, sand, and finish every piece by hand to create a one-of-a-kind result designed to last a lifetime.
Best for: A premium, heirloom-quality desk with stunning natural movement.
FLEXISPOT RUBBERWOOD TOPS
Flexispot’s pre-finished rubberwood tops offer a practical and budget-friendly alternative to our in-house hardwood options. These tops are made from sustainably sourced rubberwood, assembled into a stable, uniform panel and finished at the factory with a protective surface coating. Because they come pre-finished in standardized sizes, they provide a clean, consistent look with minimal variation and quick turnaround time. While they don’t offer the artisanal grain patterns or hand-applied finish of our locally crafted tops, they are a reliable, good-looking choice for customers who want a solid desk surface at a more accessible price point.
Best for: Simple, clean, budget-friendly setups in standard sizes.
